Preserving Our Purity
I once went to visit the gravesite of the previous Admor of Skver, zt”l. After an inspirational prayer, we turned to leave, feeling elevated. The atmosphere was surreal.
My students suddenly began dancing and singing. Out of nowhere, a musical instrument appeared, and the tune of the song “May this hour be an hour of mercy before You,” wafted through the air. We sang and danced with unequalled zeal and zest. We sang a few more songs of closeness to Hashem.

In those moments, I felt that, B’ezrat Hashem, when Mashiach will come, even the gentiles will recognize Hashem, as the pasuk states in Tehillim (117:1), “Praise Hashem, all nations, praise Him, all the states! For His kindness has overwhelmed us.”
We segued from song to song, enveloped in the caress of holiness and purity. But the Satan could not stand this. Suddenly, a woman appeared before us and began dancing. We ended abruptly and boarded the busses.
We maintained memories of elevation without falling into the pitfall of sin.
