In a Different Time Zone
Moreinu v’Rabbeinu, Rabbi David Pinto, shlita, devotes his entire life for the sake of Am Yisrael and bringing merit to the public. In his frequent travels, he traverses continents and seas, never hesitating to go from town to town and country to country in his holy calling.

All the long hours spent in transit are filled with Torah study and writing his Torah novellae. Rabbi David has attested about himself that when he is engrossed in Torah during travel, then even during a long flight, the time simply flies.
This should give us pause for thought. When a person is involved in a pleasurable activity, the time passes quickly. But when he is doing something which has been forced upon him, each moment seems like an eternity.
This is exactly how it is with spiritual matters, such as Torah study, prayer, and good deeds. When they are done properly, out of love for Hashem, the time goes by quickly. But when they are done out of force or necessity, the time drags on interminably. It is most fitting for a Jew to serve his Creator with joy and the desire to come closer to Him.
