Healer of All Flesh
Mr. Chaim Schaefer of Los Angeles, California once phoned me. He told me that his son was deathly ill. He asked that I bless his son in the merit of my forefathers. He added that R’ Povarsky was the one who had suggested he turn to me for assistance.
In response to his request, I told him that he must put his trust in the Creator, Who can do anything. He could heal his son in a split second. I promised him that in the merit of my ancestors, his son would immediately experience a reversal in his condition, and continue healing, until he would recover completely and get back on his feet.
When Mr. Schaefer heard this, he was skeptical. He had difficulty believing that his son’s condition would improve and that he would ever be completely healed. According to the doctors, his son was breathing his last.
When he shared his qualms with R’ Povarsky, the latter suggested he travel to the hospital, and see for himself how things were developing.
When he arrived at the hospital, he was met with a most pleasant surprise. All of his family came running toward him. They explained that the most recent tests showed a marked improvement in his son’s condition. The boy, too, felt a dramatic drop in his pain.
The true believer will merit Hashem’s salvation. Hashem will fulfill all of his wishes in the best way possible.
