A Safety Net
A man came to me with his young son. He asked that I bless him for salvation and success. Then he brought his son closer, asking that I bless him, as well. I blessed the father from the depths of my heart, as he had requested, and then blessed the boy. For some unknown reason, I added, “May Hashem save you from all harm.”
They left my room in good spirits. But after only a few minutes, I was notified that the boy had fallen from a fourth-floor window. With great Heavenly kindness, he was safe and sound.
I am sure it was the merit of the tzedakah that the father always gave, as well as the merit of my forefathers, zy”a, which stood under the window, cushioning this boy’s fall.
