Never Give Up

Never Give Up

A man came to me complaining of various problems with his wife and children. He asked for my blessing that he should die. When he saw my shocked look, he hurried to explain. He had already tried all the tricks to save his home. He made every attempt suggested to him, but met up against a brick wall. As far as he was concerned, there was nothing left to do.

Since it was Purim time, I answered him with a timely message. “The Jews in Shushan also thought there was no hope. They thought Haman would annihilate them all, men, women, and children. But Hashem reversed everything in their favor. Just as the Jews in the days of Mordechai and Esther heard about the evil decree and repented, fasted, and prayed for deliverance, so must you do teshuvah and pray for salvation from your suffering.”

Baruch Hashem, the man accepted my words. Thoughts of death left him. The next day, which was Ta’anit Esther, when he was visiting his mother, his wife called him up and asked for forgiveness for all the anguish she had caused him.
