The Curative Powers of Faith

The Curative Powers of Faith

While on a trip to Montreal, I was delighted to hear various accounts of miracles and salvations which occurred to people there, or their ancestors, in the merit of my grandfather, the tzaddik, Rabbi Chaim Pinto, zy”a. I was greatly inspired by these tales of wonder.

  1. The Tzaddik, Rabbi Chaim Pinto Hakatan, zy”a

One man related that he had come to me for a blessing on behalf of his son who had been born with severe damage to his brain. After my blessing, in the merit of Rabbi Chaim Pinto, the boy was miraculously healed, and within a few weeks, there was no trace of his problem.

Another incident occurred two years earlier, to the cantor of the Beit Hakeneset. He, too, had a newborn who was in critical condition, on the brink of death. His entire family was full of faith that Hashem alone could bring healing to the baby. They resolutely demanded that I come to the hospital to bless the baby in the merit of the tzaddikim.

I eventually yielded to their entreaties. As I stood by the baby’s bed, I put forth a prayer for him and blessed him from the bottom of my heart that Hashem should send him a cure in the merit of my forefathers.

B’chasdei Hashem, the merit of the tzaddikim evoked Heavenly mercy, and the baby had a complete recovery.
