Double Delivery
Mr. Messika is a wealthy philanthropist who resides in Paris. He once came to me to ask for my blessing. He had not yet merited having children. He also asked that I pray for his complete recovery from liver complications, from which he suffered greatly.
Just at the time that he came, I was in great need of a tremendous sum of money. I asked that he donate the entire sum, in the merit of which he would be cured. Additionally, I asked that he undertake to lay tefillin. In the merit of these mitzvot, he would, B’ezrat Hashem, receive a complete recovery.
Mr. Messika responded immediately. On the spot, he donated the sum I had specified. He remarked that he was undergoing chemotherapy, which hampered his prospects of ever having children. If he would never have children, of what use was his life? Therefore, he asked once again that I bless him to have children. Of course, I gave him my warmest wishes for children. I immediately transferred his donation to my mentor, Rabbi Binyomin Zev Kaufman, shlita, Rosh Kollel in Manchester.

Baruch Hashem, in the merit of his great faith and the tzedakah which he gave, Hashem showered him with blessing in both areas. Mr. Messika was completely cured and eventually had five children.
