We had a student who merited recognizing his Creator and doing complete teshuvah. His thirst for more Torah knowledge was unquenchable. When I would lecture in the yeshiva on Shabbat, I could see him voraciously drinking in every word. He never hesitated to ask that I clarify anything he did not understand.
- A shiur in the Beit Hamidrash, Lyon
One day, as Pesach was drawing near, he approached his friends after the prayers, and asked when the shiur of hilchot Chag HaPesach would take place. They told him when it would be. Since he had an hour at his disposal, he went to take care of various errands, intending to return on time. But Hashem had other plans in store for this young, budding scholar. He was killed in a tragic car crash and never returned to learn Torah on this earth.
His sudden death was a heavy blow to me. I consoled myself with the thought that he died with the thought of attending a Torah shiur. He arrived at a better World, surrounded by the merits of his Torah study.
