Late to Bed, Early to Rise

Late to Bed, Early to Rise

Across from my house lives a man who goes to sleep extremely late every night on account of spending his hours glued to the TV set. To my utter surprise, I find that, early the next morning, all the lights are on in his house. In only two or three hours, he manages to get in enough sleep for the next day.

At first, I thought it was a one-time occurrence. But when I saw it repeat itself often, I felt there must be a message for me.

If this man can call 3:00 a.m. his bedtime, and still arise at 6:00, all for the sake of watching TV, then surely I, whose days revolve around service of Hashem, can make do with less sleep and awaken refreshed, ready for an early start in Avodat Hashem.
