Driven to Sin

Driven to Sin

A man came to tell me that he was saved from a car accident in a most miraculous manner.

“Where were you headed when you had the accident?” I asked.

The man was embarrassed by my question and did not want to answer. But eventually, I learned that he had been headed to a place of ill repute.

I chastised him for his wrongdoings. “See how ungrateful you were! With great kindness, Hashem granted you a car. This was so that you would be able to arrive at prayers on time and have access to Torah shiurim. What did you do? You went ahead and used this gift as an implement of sin, to anger your Creator. Is this not a blatant sign of ingratitude?

The man was deeply ashamed of his deeds. I hope my words made an impression upon him, bringing him back from his wayward ways.
