On Monday, the 23rd of Tevet 5786, a special Chiour Hizouk took place in Netanya at Beit Devorah Synagogue, delivered by the Gaon and Tsaddik Rabbi David Hanania Pinto shlita, in the presence of a large audience who gathered to hear words of Torah, moral guidance, and spiritual inspiration, addressing the very foundations of Jewish life in our generation.
The lecture was delivered in elevation of the soul of the Rav’s mother, the Rabbanit Madeleine Mazal bat Mouha Simha Pinto zal, during the week marking the date of her yahrzeit. The Torah teachings were delivered with deep emotion, imbued with remembrance and gratitude toward this exceptional woman, who raised a home filled with Torah, fear of Heaven, and kindness.
Among the participants were rabbanim and public figures, including the Rav’s son, the community Rav, Rabbi Mikhael Pinto shlita, who works with devotion to strengthen Torah life and the community in the city. Also in attendance were Mr. Avi Salama, Mayor of Netanya, and Rabbi Oren Gabay, Deputy Mayor and Chairman of the Shas faction in Netanya.
In his address, Rabbi David Hanania Pinto shlita emphasized the necessity of preserving Jewish identity, particularly in a time when many values have become blurred. He stressed that every Jew must be proud of his tradition, way of life, observance of Torah and mitzvot, and committed to transmitting this heritage to the next generation.
The Rav also elaborated on the severity of speaking during Kaddish, reminding the audience that Kaddish is among the holiest and most exalted elements of prayer, especially for the elevation of souls. Any speech or distraction at that moment detracts from the dignity of prayer and the sanctity of the synagogue.
He further reinforced the importance of establishing fixed times for Torah study, clarifying that this is not an ideal reserved only for yeshiva students, but a binding foundation for every Jew, regardless of age or circumstance. Even a short but consistent time creates an ongoing connection to Torah and to the Creator.
The Rav also addressed the foundation of faith in Hashem and in the Tsaddikim, explaining that faith gives a person the strength to face life’s challenges with calmness and confidence, while attachment to the righteous brings light and guidance along the path of Torah.
In conclusion, the Rav warned against wasting time, particularly through excessive use of mobile phones, which steals a person’s precious time and distances him from Torah, prayer, and family life. He called upon everyone to engage in self-reflection and to use their time for matters of eternal value.

The lecture concluded with words of encouragement and blessing. At its conclusion, all participants passed by to receive the Rav’s blessing. The gathering left a deep impression on the hearts of those present, who departed with a renewed sense of inspiration and a sincere desire to strengthen their commitment to Torah, faith, and Jewish identity.
