By Heart, from the Heart<\/strong><\/p>\n

When Masechet Pesachim<\/em> was being studied in our kollel in Ashdod, I asked the students to send me questions that arose, from time to time, so that I, too, could take part in their studies. As I had asked, the Rosh Kollel, Rabbi Avner Revach, shlita, once sent me a long list of questions which had surfaced during the course of study.<\/p>\n

I was extremely happy to receive this list. But unfortunately, I did not have sifrei kodesh<\/em> with me from which to research the topic under discussion. Instead, I tried to strain my mind to understand the questions. But they were a closed book. Without the necessary sefarim, I did not have the thread of an idea as to how to respond.<\/p>\n

    I almost gave up, figuring the questions would wait until I had access to sefarim. Then I would be in my element, like a fish in the sea, swimming in the waters of the Talmud.<\/p>\n

    On second thought, I decided to keep up with my intense efforts at recollecting the said sugyas<\/em>. I asked Hashem to enlighten me in His Torah and allow me to discover the appropriate answers to the questions. In this manner, I found myself laboring over the Torah until the wee hours of the morning. I read and re-read the questions, again and again. With each reading, I gained greater clarity on the topic at hand. Finally, I understood the subjects completely and was able to write fitting responses to the difficulties.<\/p>\n

    Together with my answers, I added a note to Rav Revach, stating that I had reached these conclusions on my own, without the aid of any sefarim whatsoever. I sincerely hoped they would be accepted and understood by the avrechim. If not, I asked that they let me know their opinions.<\/p>\n

    Rav Revach phoned me the next day. He said that my answers were received with enthusiasm among all of the avrechim. They truly felt that I had revealed the pure truth.<\/p>\n

    I attest to myself that this incident is clear proof that the Torah is unlimited. The more one delves into it, the more gates of wisdom and understanding open before him. He thereby merits revealing new insights. Our Sages in Avot exhort us (5:22), \u201cDelve in it and delve in it, for all is in it.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n
