Various pictures framed the walls. One work clearly depicted a cross, the iconic symbol of idolatry. At first, I cringed at the sight. But then I had a deeper understanding as to what this symbol conveyed. It actually transmitted the message that (<em>Tehillim<\/em> 115:5-7), \u201cThey have a mouth but cannot speak; they have eyes, but cannot see; they have ears, but cannot hear; they have a nose but cannot smell. Their hands \u2013 they cannot feel; their feet \u2013 they cannot walk; they cannot utter a sound.\u201d The gods of the gentiles are mere statues of stone, incapable of delivering their deifiers.<\/p>\n<p><em>The blessing \u201c\u2026that He has not made me a gentile\u201d burst forth from my lips. I was grateful that Hashem created me a Jew. The nations bow to nothingness.
