Seeing the Light of Torah<\/strong><\/p>\n

A gentile couple in the USA discovered that the husband had a growth in his head. His condition deteriorated until he lost his vision completely. The couple did not despair, but tried everything possible in order to cure him. They visited the top doctors and invested tremendous sums to find a remedy for this ailment. But even the greatest professors could not find a cure. After another visit with a top specialist, who also threw up his hands in defeat, the doctor suggested that they see me.<\/p>\n

The man hurried to phone my secretary to make an appointment, but was told that the next appointment was available only in three months\u2019 time. The sick man thought he was dealing with a world-renowned professor. He began pressing for an earlier appointment, and even offered compensation\u2026 but my secretary would not hear of it. The appointment was made for three months later.<\/p>\n

After this amount of time, the couple made their way to where I was accepting audiences. They were met with surprise at their surroundings. Assuming they would enter a state-of-the-art clinic of some top specialist, they found a long line of people, many of them healthy, in a rather ordinary corridor.<\/p>\n

When they finally entered, they asked, \u201cAre all the people outside sick?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cG-d forbid,\u201d I replied.<\/p>\n

The couple pondered this for a moment, and then said, \u201cIt seems that there has been some sort of mistake. We made an appointment with a top specialist, who can cure threatening illnesses. We must have come to the wrong place.\u201d<\/p>\n

They immediately called up the referring doctor and demanded to know where he had sent them. \u201cThere is no doctor here at all!\u201d they shouted into the receiver.<\/p>\n

\u201cCorrect,\u201d the doctor answered, nonplussed. \u201cI did not send you to a doctor, but to a rabbi, who can give you a blessing for a complete recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n

After waiting so long, and with no other alternative, they tried their luck with me. They asked that I bless them.<\/p>\n

I tried to strengthen their faith in Hashem. I explained to them that He created the world and manages everything. He is the One Who decreed that the man become sick, and He can just as easily remove the illness. All that they were required to do was observe the seven Noachide Laws, which I delineated. Additionally, I recommended an English-language book on faith. The couple, astounded at the unusual prescription I was offering them, thanked me and went on their way.<\/p>\n

With no other choice, they learned about faith, the seven Noachide Laws, and the story of Am Yisrael at Sinai. They eventually reached a compelling conclusion. They, as gentiles, were obligated to observe only seven commandments, whereas the Jewish nation was obligated in 613 commandments. \u201cWhy should we lose out?\u201d they demanded to know. \u201cWhy can\u2019t we, too, merit keeping all of the mitzvot in the Torah? Are we inferior to the Jewish people? We wish to embrace the entire Torah, not just the seven Noachide Laws!\u201d<\/p>\n

The greater this couple\u2019s interest grew in Torah and Judaism, the smaller the man\u2019s growth became, until it disappeared completely, and he was completely cured!<\/p>\n

Three years later, this couple returned to me. They reported the amazing miracle that had happened to them. Additionally, they informed me that they were in the conversion process and, in the very near future, would become an integral part of the Jewish nation and would merit observing all the Torah\u2019s mitzvot. <\/em><\/p>\n
