Immersed in Blessing

Immersed in Blessing

Two childless women came to see me to be blessed for children. I asked them to undertake the mitzvah of taharat hamishpachah, so that my blessing should have something to take effect on.

Only one of the women was stirred by my words. Despite her friend’s persuasive arguments, she replied, with strength of character, “If this is the Rav’s advice, I believe that in the merit of this mitzvah, I will have a child.”

A year later, this woman returned with a set of twins.

Observing her friend’s tremendous joy, the skeptical woman decided to take the plunge, as well. She agreed to observe the laws of taharat hamishpachah, and the next year, held a healthy baby boy.
